The guitar from 1:39 to the end is louder and more centered in the remix. There's very noticeable tape noise on the lead vocal in the remix.

I wondered, while writing this up, if this single-track remix (which naturally has a clean fade at the end, instead of a crossfade) accidentally got used for the album release, instead of a correct mix with the crossfade.
The crossfade at the end is slightly different, as in the remix, Ravine fades in about a second and a half (in its own runtime) prior to where it fades in in the original mix. Very rarely does the remix sound very different from the original; and there are three places (the crossfade between the title track and Fly on a Windshield, the opening of Hairless Heart, and the climax of The Colony of Slippermen) where, either via carelessness or lack of attention to detail, it's unambiguously worse. Thus, from Selling England on, there's less room for the remixes to improve on the originals- they manage at best to be sometimes-interesting alternate versions of the albums, rather than (at least potentially) being unilateral improvements. The Lamb is the most problematic remix I've done so far, and will probably retain that title.
In späteren Jahren hat er auf die Darbietung von Genesis-Titeln verzichtet. But it's sad that there's absolutely nothing in its place.
The tinkling glass sound effects are mixed much lower in … that’s my opinion on all of the albums, actually, but that’s just me./r/Genesis is a subreddit dedicated to the band Genesis and the solo works of its former members.Press J to jump to the feed. The Chamber of 32 Doors - New Stereo Mix.
In prior cases where sound effects were flown into the original mix, Davis has generally tried to recreate them or substitute in similar sound effects- eg, the pub ambiance in Get 'Em Out by Friday, or the geese honks on Apocalypse in 9/8. )No major differences apart from the different crossfade edit noted above. At 3:06-3:07, the "Here I go!"
I checked against the Platinum Collection remix, and: it seems like it might in fact be the same remix- the PC remix is also missing the "To the coat of white" doubling vocal, for example.
At 3:14 to 3:25, this is repeated- the Slipperman vocal is mixed center in the original mix, while the remix has "You better watch it son..." left and "You better run..." mixed right. At about 4:12-4:18: one of the most noticeable and consequential changes in the remixes: the climactic "dick-docking" sound effect is totally absent in the remix. Overall, there are remarkably few mix differences in this song- Eno's effects seem to have been applied to the multitrack master directly instead of during mixing, and the overdubbed percussion seems to have been already recorded in stereo, so there aren't really any differences in vocal treatments or stereo panning. At 2:51-3:07, and again at 4:50-5:06, the lead vocal is processed differently in the remix, sounding less wobbly than the original. 5:31-5:43: the "Raindrops keep falling on my head" vocal fades out a bit later in the remix, and might be phased differently.
This last segment (to 8:13) is mixed louder in the remix. The crossfade with In the Cage is about a second longer in the remix than the original.About 0:59-1:19: the distorted guitar fades up louder in the remix than it does in the original. At around 7:21-7:24, the remix fades into the ending segment about half a second earlier than the original. 4.
See the former posts on If I can editorialize a little bit here- On the first few proper Genesis albums (Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot to an extent) the band were still finding their feet in the studio. The balance of lead vocals in the duet sections is somewhat different in the remix- I'd say Pete's voice is the dominant one throughout the original mix, but Phil's voice dominates the verses in the remix. 5. The tinkling glass sound effects are mixed much lower in the remix (about 0:40-0:50). are mixed way up in the remix, and sound clean; in the original mix, they're much quieter, and sound processed and wobbly.
