Sea Kings have played a very minor role in the story for the most part. Could Sea Kings actually be some of the strongest creatures in the OP universe?

Its totally possible to underestimate them as their time has been limited and we really havent seen them much.Oh yeah I forgot about those Sea Kings that Shirahoshi called. ).We also spend a lot of time on Land, where, you know, they aren't present.What do you expect, Sea Kings just randomly waltzing around on land?I always assume that the crew sees them off screen between islandssince the following arcs were focussed on islands I would wonder why and how they would appear.To offer up a less plausible, but not crazy, suggestion than the other posters, maybe they avoid the New World because of how crazy powerful most of the pirates and marines are.I guess as long they are irrelevant to the current story they won't get any panels bc they are not an actual thread to the strawhats anymore like they used to be pre timeskipStrawhats are pretty much constantly rushing since they are in the new world, except for Whole Cake and entering Wano there wasn't much navigation action.I think last we see or at least have them mentioned is when Garp is escorting the Fishman Island royals to the reverie.

I can't recall specific examples but I feel like we've seen some Sea Kings preform extremely poorly. It would be cool if there was like a King of the Sea Kings who lives in the depths of the calm belt and is insanely huge. Before I go start the list. He's insanely strong but he's not exactly the smartest Pirate leader and it definitely seems like he underperforms given his power level.In before we learn that the red line is the sleeping Super gigantic king of the sea Kings. There are only a handful of chapters in the entire series that feature a Sea King in any shape or form.We haven't seen many birds either, it doesn't really mean anything.It's not like there is a reason to show them. The Sea Kings can however be tamed if one has the disposition of a King (Haoshoku Haki).
I know people always use to say it didn't make sense that someone as powerful as Shanks could lose his arm to a Sea King, and to be honest I was one of those people, but as the series has gone on, I'm starting to think I have always underestimated physical threats in the OP universe.For example we've seen how characters like Big Mom and Kaidou are so scary because of their sheer physical strength without even using DF. "Tbh I think we have only ever seen fodder level sea kings.
Despite this, they are normally different enough to be determined from other types of sea monsters. They are serpent-like in appearance. I think the real powerful ones never come to shallow water. It’s just because Luffy is immune that we don’t think they’re useful.That's true.
