Thor, Fandral, and Volstagg helped Hogun attain a measure of revenge for his people by journeying to Zanadu, capital of the Mogul of the Mystic Mountain’s power and defeating Mogul, placing the thief-prince Alibar in command of his kingdom. Although Loki sent each man in search of a different mystical cure, they eventually compared notes and turned on Loki; with Thor’s help, Loki was beaten, and Mord restored to normal.When Odin entered another Odinsleep, he transferred his power to Heimdall, and the as guardian of the Rainbow Bridge. When Volstagg visited Chicago, Osborn dispatched the villainous U-Foes against him, and the force of their assault killed several bystanders at the local football stadium.

It is a fairly friendly battle though, in which is ended with both parties parting as allies and rounded out with much drinking and discussion.

But the contest was disrupted by the enchanted automaton, the Destroyer, who was beaten by the assembled warriors. Volstagg revealed that they thought it unwise to keep two Infinity Stones close to one another, so the Aether went to Tivan, as they already had the Tesseract on Asgard. He is also a superb hand-to-hand combatant. Kevin Feige has addressed how Thor: Ragnarok handles the Warriors Three, defending one of the film's more controversial moments. Upon returning to Asgard, Sif, Hogun and Volstagg took Fandral to the healers while Odin punished Thor by stripping him of his powers and sending him to Earth.

This was the case when Thor wished to travel to Jotunheim in order to enact revenge against the Frost Giants, despite Odin’s refusal. They are defeated. Even though Odin forbade Thor from traveling to Jotunheim to exact revenge on the Frost Giants, the God of Thunder decided to do exactly that, thanks in part to the machinations of Loki, who had secretly let the first batch of Frost Giants in. They manage to fight off most of the Skrulls, until a particularly powerful female Skrull brandishing Beta Ray Bill's hammer Stormbreaker arrives and lays waste to Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg. Soon after, Fandral informed Odin that they had no way of detecting or tracking the Dark Elves' ships which still hovered around Asgard in stealth mode.
